Questions & answers
Holiday charter questions
Which holidays are popular for yacht charters in Cabo?
Christmas, New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day are very popular, along with spring holidays and summer celebrations such as the Fourth of July and Mexican Independence Day in September. Any date with family in town can become a holiday charter.
Can we watch New Year's Eve fireworks from a yacht?
When fireworks are scheduled over Cabo San Lucas bay, a yacht offers a spectacular view. Displays are organized by others and can change, so we confirm the plan closer to the date and design the cruise around it.
How early should we book a holiday charter?
As early as possible. Late December dates and New Year's Eve are in high demand, and the larger yachts and event boats are often reserved well in advance.
Are rates different on holidays?
Rates can be higher on peak holiday dates and minimum charter lengths may apply. We will quote your exact date so there are no surprises.
Can we have a holiday meal on board?
Yes, on yachts that include a chef or offer catering. Tell us whether you have a traditional dish in mind, such as a Thanksgiving or Christmas menu, and we will confirm the options for your yacht.
Can the yacht be decorated for Christmas or another holiday?
Holiday décor can usually be arranged for an additional cost, or you can bring your own removable decorations. Many yachts do not allow confetti or glitter.
Is a holiday charter suitable for the whole family?
Yes. Tell us the ages of your youngest and oldest guests so we can suggest a comfortable boat with shade, easy boarding and child-size life jackets. A daytime cruise with a swim stop is a family favorite.
Will we see whales during a holiday charter?
Humpback whale season in Los Cabos runs from roughly mid-December to mid-April, so Christmas and New Year charters often coincide with it. Sightings are frequent in season but can never be guaranteed.
Is it cold on the water in winter?
Cabo's winter days are usually mild and sunny, but it can feel cool and breezy on the water, especially in the evening. Bring a light jacket or sweater for sunset cruises.
Can we book a charter for a large holiday group?
Yes. The 72' and 74' Blue Water yachts host up to 50 guests, and the event boats on our catamaran page host up to 200. Share your guest count early so we can secure a suitable boat.
What if the weather affects our holiday charter?
The captain and port authority decide whether it is safe to sail. Ask about the rescheduling and cancellation terms for your booking, and consider planning your charter early in your stay so there is flexibility.
